The Iowa Farmers Union is an organization of farmers and consumers using education and policy to work toward a more sustainable Iowa future. The Iowa Farmers Union supports:
- Development of local food systems that lead to higher quality food, improved food safety, lower energy costs, and increased income and profitability for local farmers
- Conservation of natural resources for future farming productivity as well as human health and quality of life
- A state rural electric standard that is targeted toward locally owned facilities
We believe these goals can be accomplished through education, legislation, and cooperation.
