The 2017 Iowa Legislative Session is underway, and you are invited to join IFU members and farm & food advocates from across the state for the Iowa Farmers Union’s 2017 Farm & Food Lobby Day!

WHEN: Thursday, February 2, 2017
10:00AM Meet at the State Historical Building (600 E Locust Street, Des Moines) for orientation, legislative updates, and lunch
1:00PM Gather in the 2nd Floor Rotunda of the State Capitol (1007 E Grand Ave, Des Moines) to begin meetings with your legislators
WHAT: Speak out for policies that support Iowa’s family farmers, gain grassroots advocacy experience, and build relationships with your state legislators
LUNCH: Lunch will be provided for participants (please be sure to RSVP)
DRESS: Business casual
BRING (optional): cameras/phone, pencil, notepad, and business cards

IFU ADVOCACY FUND RECEPTION

Please join us following Farm & Food Lobby Day for a special reception at HoQ restaurant to benefit the IFU Advocacy Fund. The reception includes locally-sourced food and wine and a chance to hear from our friend, farm & food writer Alan Guebert.
This event is a fundraiser for the IFU Advocacy Fund. Donations will be accepted at the door; all proceeds will be used to support IFU’s grassroots advocacy efforts on behalf of family farmers throughout the year.
