Youth & adult education form the foundation of the Farmers Union mission. The traditional symbol of the Farmers Union – the triangle – has “Education” at its base, with “Legislation” and “Cooperation forming the two sides. We recognize that education and leadership development are essential to our success and the growth of our Union.

Iowa Farmers Union offers a variety of youth and adult educational and leadership opportunities for our members each year, including many programs offered in partnership with the National Farmers Union and other state chapters. If education is something you’re passionate about, consider joining the IFU Education Committee to help us better inform our communities.

IFU educational programs are sponsored via the IFU Education Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1998 to carry out the educational portion of the IFU mission.

IFU’s youth education & leadership programs, include:

  • College Conference on Cooperatives
    • The College Conference on Cooperatives provides students the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of cooperative business economics, become advocates for cooperative business models, and learn about career opportunities within cooperatives.
