Iowa Farmers Union Endorses Congressional Candidates for 2026 Election
NEVADA, IA – Iowa Farmers Union today announced its endorsements for federal races in the 2026 election cycle. IFU evaluated candidates based on their responses to a comprehensive survey on critical issues facing farmers and rural Iowa, including farm policy, fair trade, water quality, rural healthcare, agricultural consolidation, beginning farmer support, rural infrastructure, and right to repair. The survey was grounded in Iowa Farmers Union’s 2026 Legislative Policy, which IFU members vote on and approve at our Annual Convention.
“For over a century, Iowa Farmers Union has been vocal that family farmers and rural communities deserve leaders who will fight for them,” said Aaron Lehman, IFU President. “This election is too important to sit on the sidelines. Farmers are facing unprecedented challenges, from unfair trade policies and corporate consolidation to threats to water quality and rural healthcare. We need leaders in Congress who are ready to take real action on the issues that matter to our members. The candidates we’re endorsing today have demonstrated they understand these challenges and are committed to solutions that put farmers at the center of agricultural policy. We’re proud to support them.”
