Iowa Farmers Union Endorses State Candidates in 2026 Elections
NEVADA, IA – Iowa Farmers Union today announced its endorsements for state races in the 2026 election cycle. IFU evaluated candidates based on their responses to a comprehensive survey on critical issues facing farmers and rural Iowa, including farm policy, fair trade, water quality, rural healthcare, agricultural consolidation, beginning farmer support, rural infrastructure, and right to repair. The survey was grounded in Iowa Farmers Union’s 2026 Legislative Policy, which is voted on and approved by IFU members at our Annual Convention.
“Iowa Farmers Union is adamant that family farmers and rural communities deserve leaders who will fight for them,” said Aaron Lehman, IFU President. “State leaders shape water quality policy, agricultural taxes, and rural healthcare. These decisions directly affect our farms and rural communities every day. The candidates we’re endorsing understand what family farmers need and are ready to fight along with us for these priorities at the State Capitol.”
