Chris Petersen, President of the Iowa Farmers Union, represented Iowa as a panel member at the Fort Collins, Colorado antitrust public workshop. This was the fourth in a series of five meetings around the country, put on by the Department of Justice and the US Department of Agriculture, to investigate competition in agriculture.

The meetings have covered a variety of agricultural topics, including dairy, seed, and livestock. The series of meetings is a result of unprecedented cooperation between the Departments of Justice and Agriculture, led by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, Attorney General Eric Holder, and Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division, Christine Varney.
